Alfred Homann
Alfred Homann was a Danish architect and designer. Simplicity, clarity, and logic were the most important parameters for Homann, and his keen eye for detail is evident in everything he did– from furniture and lighting design to architectural projects.
Born in 1948, Alfred Homann was a Danish architect and designer.
Homann graduated as an architect from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1976 and after spending some years as a student working with different Danish and American Architects, he founded his own studio in 1978 in Copenhagen. Simplicity, clarity, and logic have always been the most important parameters for Homann, and his keen eye for detail is evident in everything he does. Homann has created furniture and lighting, as well as architectural projects at museums, railway stations, private residences, and public buildings – everything with great precision and thoroughness.
In 1987, Homann established Homann Design Inc. in the United States from where he worked on different projects in addition to his Copenhagen studio. He traveled the world giving lectures and presentations in the USA, Japan, Russia, and Europe. Furthermore, Homann was acknowledged with multiple international awards during his career for both design and architecture - for example, the Red Dot award, the IF Product Design Award and the Brunel Award.
